  • Who will pay for the freight difference in international trade?

As everyone knows the sea freight raised since COVID-19 not only for our fabric export but for most of the products around the world, we really miss we can use 1500usd to send a 20ft container 320 rolls 2.5m 1200 series sunscreen fabrics to Buenos Aires in June of 2019, but good times didn’t last long, when our products were ready in August and we check the freight again, the freight become 3000+ USD, for now, the freight is around 10500USD, here we have a question, who should take the extra freight? buyer, shipping company or seller?

Imagine importer as a exporter, everything is normal when exporter check blinds fabric freight, but don’t forget a mini remark, there will be valid time when forwarder quote the freight, so the question above can be solved easily, when shipping date is in valid quotation date, the shipping company should stay their original freight, when shipping date is over the freight quotation date, exporter need to check again with shipping company and update the newest freight to importer.
